Growing Maps
Turf Map
Turf
grasses for practical purposes are divided into two groups.
Warm season and cool season grasses.
You can use this map to determine which kind, out of the grasses we
offer, will grow in your area and best fit your preferences.
We broke this map into four general zones to help you get an idea what
generally works well for these areas. However
due to elevation and microclimates and soil types and other weather related
variations can effect these generalizations of planting areas.

Zone
1
In Zone 1 all of the grasses we offer will do well and require little
irrigation to survive. To achieve
top quality and color during dry seasons it is best to water your grass to keep
it from going dormant.
Zone
2
Zone 2 is an area of colder temperatures that Bluegrass and Fine Fescues
can tolerate much better. We add
some Perennial Ryegrass to aid in quick establishment but it will tend to die
out in colder weather but can be over seeded back in the spring with little
effort.
Zone
3
This zone will grow the grasses we offer under a good maintenance
program. Bluegrass and Fescues in
the colder areas and Tall Fescue mixes for the Southern areas.
If you need the quick fill in use the Cascade Quick Green.
To maintain a lawn year round you will need to water during dry seasons
to keep a lawn established in this zone.
Zone
4
In general this is the overseeding area.
The grasses we carry will not survive year round.
They are normally planted in the fall in September, October and die out
by late spring. They provide
excellent lawn during this time but will not tolerate the summer heat.
In northern part of this zone Tall Fescue will survive as long as it is
watered adequately.
