Aster Douglas
The Aster Douglas is an erect, short lived perennial herb that produces long, narrow petals which are purple in color. Its foliage is finely textured and it will actively grow during the Spring and Summer months. While initial plant growth is rapid, Aster Douglas will re-grow at a moderate rate after the bloom period is over and the plant is cut back. This herb is adapted to grow in coarse, medium, and fine textured soils and can withstand those that have a high levels of saline concentration. It is not drought tolerant, though it requires low soil fertility. The Aster Douglas needs a good deal of water, up to 64 inches per year, and will establish with a root depth of roughly six inches. Full sun to partial shade will be required for successful growth.
