Sunflower - Lemon Ice

The Lemon Ice Sunflower produces blooms of 5 to 6 inches and attract birds and butterflies.  Sunflowers are very adaptable and will grow in a wide range of conditions, grow in almost any soil and is drought tolerant and require alot of sun.  Planting should be done in the spring after the danger of frost is past.  There are other varieties of sunflowers that are also produced in Oregon. Some of the other tall ones include "Lemon Queen" and the "Autumn Beauty Mix."  Those varieties stand between five and seven feet tall. There is also a short variety known as Sunspots.
